Leading technologies: IMA, Priess & Horstmann and Schelling will present innovative complete solutions for efficient and highly flexible furniture manufacture
Lübbecke/Hannover, 30 May 2011 – Visitors of the trade fair stand shared by IMA Klessmann, Priess & Horstmann und Schelling at this year’s LIGNA will profit from synergised system competence in interlinked production technology and logistics. True to the motto “we create progress – one step ahead“ the three partners will for the first time present themselves at a shared trade fair stand. The technology leaders will present perfectly synchronised interlinked system solutions for the industrial component manufacture in the furniture sector at their stand covering 2,322 m² (Hall 26 / Stand D63, D64, D65, D82 and E59). Under the tagline “making more out of wood” the exhibits can be experienced in hands-on in live operation by the visitors. The trade fair’s highlights include solutions for lot size 1 processing, cutting to size optimisation, serial production with laser and plasma technology and the equipment of entire production plants with state-of-the-art laser technology and fully automatic production processes.
IMA, Priess & Horstmann and Schelling have been closely cooperating for almost ten years now. Together, the long-established companies offer over 200 years of combined experience in interlinked production technology and logistics for efficient and highly flexible furniture manufacturing. With a market share amounting to about EUR 200 mill. and 1,250 highly qualified employees at 70 locations all over the world, strategic alliances in the global furniture industry have always played a major role for the renowned partners. Their reference list reads like the complete who’s who of the wood-working industry. With the first joint trade fair presence at LIGNA 2011 the three high-tech companies open a new chapter in their successful cooperation. Rüdiger Schliekmann, CEO of IMA Klessmann GmbH and spokesman of the network, explains the rationale: “Today’s furniture industry demands complete manufacturing solutions which cover the entire production chain from cutting of panels to size, throughfeed edge banding to handling and logistics and which are perfectly adapted to suit the respective production processes of the individual customers. In contrast to corporate groups our advantage is that each partner company must hold its ground in its market segment in international competition. For this reason we provide absolutely uncompromising cutting-edge technology – this is what we understand by ’leading technologies’. However, as IMA typically acts as general contractor when implementing joint projects the customer deals with only one partner during all project phases.”
Wolfgang Rohner, CEO of Schelling Anlagenbau GmbH, adds: ”The network is much more than a loose association of companies. We closely coordinate our activities in all areas, ranging from product development to the development of joint service concepts. This is why we can offer our customers perfectly harmonised one-step system solutions.” Visitors of the trade fair stand shared by IMA, Priess & Horstmann and Schelling will see for themselves that this approach is a sweeping success in the market. All of the 25 exhibits have already been sold and will be directly delivered to the customers after LIGNA.
Jürgen Waterbär, Sales Manager of Priess, Horstmann & Co. Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, sees great potential for further corporate growth not only in Europe but also in other regions of the world: ”The demand for interlinked production technology is also growing in the emerging countries. The latest technologies are being used when setting up new manufacturing centres in China, Brazil or Russia. Our strength is the supply of state-of-the-art complete solutions which at the same time take into account special local market requirements as far as materials and specific manufacturing processes of the individual manufactures are concerned.”
